WDVX – WDVX Blue Plate Special.
I just love that this station is here in Knoxville, TN and that it has this Blue Plate Special.
I heard a song on it one time that I would love to find. Can anyone help me? It was one man singing it, well, sort or talk/singing it. It was a story song about him as a little boy wanting to go on vacation to Disneyworld, but his parents travel up Highway 66, instead. It’s a long song that tells about all the places he passes and sees, and the ending is about how they are going to visit his grandmother, near Gatlinburg, I think, and the hug she gave him was worth the whole trip. It was more valuable to him than if he had gone to Disneyworld. Anyone know what song that is?

This is Mr. Duncan, a local artist who captures local scenes beautifully on canvas (or paper). He has even succesfully painted the one lane underpass wit all its graffiti. You can find his shop opened from time to time right over the railroad tracks at the intersection of Ball Road.

I just read about this in the Knoxville News-Sentinel. You must not miss it, because these events and performances are huge, such as the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra’s Tchaikovsky Spectacular, The Music Man, It’s a Wonderful Life, A Christmas Carol, etc. Here is a link to the website. Plan your year, now. They are encouraging families to go together to arts events, and it is for public, private, and home schools. I know I will be checking my schedule to see when I can bring some grandchildren.

There may soon be a new way you can get money out of your house. It is with the Home Star Energy Retrofit Act. As the Knoxville News Sentinel reported today, it’s a two year program that can give homeowners up to $8,000 for improving energy efficiency in their homes.
This is separate from the $1,500 credit homeowners can get this year.
I will post more details soon. Cathy Glass, Realtor

Here’s a great story Hana Kim of WATE did on our local housing market (Knoxville, TN area). The sales are way up for February and March. Finally, the buyers seem to be coming out. It is such a great time to buy now. I am urging everyone who has been thinking about moving to do it now, before the interest rates go too high. There is no need to wait for house prices to go down any lower. They are staying relatively flat (going down only slightly). If interest rates go up by even 1%, you will lose more money than you save if you wait for the prices to come down.
